According to State Grid Hubei Electric Power Co., Ltd., on March 8, Hubei's new energy power generation output exceeded 10 million kilowatts for the first time, reaching 10.2651 million kilowatts, accounting for 40.4% of the province's electricity load. The daily power generation of new energy reached 138 million kWh, a year-on-year increase of 1.24%. Hubei's new energy power generation output and daily power generation reached a record high.

Anchoring the "double carbon" goal, in recent years, Hubei has made every effort to do a good job in new energy grid-connected services, and the installed capacity of new energy has accounted for 20% of the installed capacity of the whole caliber. With the rapid growth of new energy power generation, the pressure on consumption has increased greatly. In order to ensure the full consumption of new energy power generation on the same day, State Grid Hubei Electric Power Co., Ltd. accurately carried out new energy forecasting and reasonably arranged the start-up and shutdown methods. For example, the rational use of the Bailian River and other pumped storage power stations to increase the peak regulation capacity of 900,000 kilowatts; Deploy some small hydropower plants with storage capacity in advance to ensure the power balance of the whole network and prevent curtailment of wind and solar power; Coordinate and arrange for a number of thermal power units to be shut down for standby.

State Grid Hubei Electric Power Co., Ltd. said that it will further improve the new energy power generation forecast model and continuously improve the ultra-short-term, short-term and medium- and long-term power generation forecast level. At the same time, the rational use of pumped storage regulation means, promote the flexible transformation of coal-fired units in the province, and release more space for new energy consumption.
